Air filters are the first step to tuning any engine. The principle is simple, the more air you get in the engine, the more power you get out. Ok, so there is obviously more to it than that, but bolting on an induction kit can increase your cars power from 1-2bhp, up to 15bhp (rolling road proven!!) With modern ECU's you don't have to re-map or tune the engine, just bolt the kit on! Even a replacement element alone can add a couple of horses, and you never have to replace it, so they quickly pay for themselves. For the maximum power, you can go for a K&N typhoon kit, or an enclosed intake system like the BMC CDA kits maximising cold air intake.

Performance exhausts are a great way to improve the power, and sound of your car! Even with just a sports exhaust back box, your car can sound like it means business and have a noticeable improvement in power. For the maximum power increase though, a full exhaust system is the way forward. Sports cat, or de-cat pipe (not road legal) and tubular manifold give further power gains. Free flowing exhausts get the gases out of the engine quicker, and help improve power and acceleration, especially at higher revs.

Black Diamond Brake discs are covered by a 12 month manufacturers warranty
Please be advised, vibration is not covered by the warranty. Professional fitting for brake discs involves a thorough clean of the mounting surfaces and no product to be used such as cooper grease between the two surfaces. A run out test is ESSENTIAL after the discs are mounted. This will show whether the hub is causing runout on the disc and this issue can then be resolved by cleaning and re-seating the discs etc. Often, a vehicle which has a run out problem will develop vibration / warping after 1,000-5,000 miles. This is not a defect with the discs and is not covered by the manufacturers warranty. In this instance the discs will need lathing / skimming while on the vehicle to resolve the problem.

I contacted DC Performance a few months back, as I needed advice on some vented brake discs for my Citroen Saxo, as the existing ones had warped. I had heard good things about EBC discs, so ordered a set along with fast road pads. Dan at DC contacted me to advise that the discs weren't in stock, and he couldn't say exactly when they would be again. Dan suggested I consider Black Diamond drilled+vented 'Combi' discs along with the appropriate pads. As it happened, they turned out to be cheaper than the EBC ones, and likely more than adequate for 'fast road' use (if such a thing is still possible on UK roads). I ordered the Black Diamond discs+pads, and after having bedded them in carefully, have to say that I am seriously impressed with their stopping power. Totally confidence-inspiring and I now find myself checking my rear-view mirror to ensure that the guy behind isn't going to run into me!! Big thanks to Dan at DC Performance for the great advice and service. I will not hesitate to contact them again if I need other performance parts for a vehicle. Ian A

I have the full set front and back. I find them quite efficient in stopping from a high speed. But the front is now wearing thin, so I'm replacing them with another set as they look the Dog's bits when the wheels are clean and I do get a second glance.

We would love your review for the Black Diamond kbd1569c Front Combi Brake Disc:
Q: Is this price for one disc, or do I get both the left and right hand side discs?
A: Brake discs are sold in axle pairs, so you will receive both the left and the right hand discs
Q: How can I tell if I have solid or vented brake discs
A: If your vehicle currently has solid brake discs, you can only replace these with solid brake discs and likewise with vented brake discs; they are not interchangeable. You can see the difference between solid and vented brake discs here: Solid or Vented Brake Discs?
