Air filters are the first step to tuning any engine. The principle is simple, the more air you get in the engine, the more power you get out. Ok, so there is obviously more to it than that, but bolting on an induction kit can increase your cars power from 1-2bhp, up to 15bhp (rolling road proven!!) With modern ECU's you don't have to re-map or tune the engine, just bolt the kit on! Even a replacement element alone can add a couple of horses, and you never have to replace it, so they quickly pay for themselves. For the maximum power, you can go for a K&N typhoon kit, or an enclosed intake system like the BMC CDA kits maximising cold air intake.
Whether you are into fast road, or track / gravel racing, your car will greatly benefit from uprated suspension. Lowering springs, full suspension kit and coilovers each have their advantages and the range means that we can cater for your suspension needs whatever your budget
Performance exhausts are a great way to improve the power, and sound of your car! Even with just a sports exhaust back box, your car can sound like it means business and have a noticeable improvement in power. For the maximum power increase though, a full exhaust system is the way forward. Sports cat, or de-cat pipe (not road legal) and tubular manifold give further power gains. Free flowing exhausts get the gases out of the engine quicker, and help improve power and acceleration, especially at higher revs.
Upgrading your brakes is vital if you have increased your cars power! It is all very well accelerating like an Aston Martin, but if you stop like a shopping trolley, you are going to be in trouble. We have a large range of options for improving your brakes. Performance pads work great on standard or up rated drilled / grooved discs, improving pedal feel and reducing brake fade and glazing. For serious stopping power then a large disc upgrade or 4-6 pot callipers are the ultimate in braking systems. We have the leading brands including Bembo, Tarox, AP and Hi-Spec all at unbeatable prices.
There are a myriad of ways to tune an engine, and you can just clean it up a little with some Magnecor ignition leads, and some up rated spark plugs, or bolt on a turbo, add a ECU and boost controller, maybe a charge cooler! Whatever you need, we have it, and cheaper than the competition!
We all like a bit of luxury, and you spend a lot of time in your car, so spoil it a little. Some sports seats, leather steering wheel and colour coded leather gear knob and gaiter can make your car a much better place to be! Whether you want the quality of Momo, or the something shiney like Richbrook, DCPerformance have the lot and you wont find any of it cheaper!
Whether you are after a subtle spoiler, or a full on lairy body kit to ensure you never see another car like yours at the shows, then DCPerformance has it all.
You can dramatically update the look for your car with some new lighting. Ditch the orange indicators for some clear or crystal clear indicators, fit some shiny angel eye headlamps, and some LED or Lexus style taillights and suddenly your car stands out from the crowd! We have all the leading brands including Ultra, InPro and Auto Art all at unbeatable prices.
If you are increasing your vehicles power, then you will inevitably put more stress on the clutch and transmission, which is when you require an uprated clutch. From organic to paddle clutches, we have them all. Couple this with a quick shifts for sharp and precise gear changes and you will really be able to feel the different in your 0-60 sprints!
Black diamond have long been one of the most respected names in the UK for performance brakes. Since their launch in 1992, they have gone from strength to strength with a range of brake discs and brake pads to fit most makes and models of vehicle on the market.
Black diamond produce three types of performance brake disc each with their own advantages.
Black Diamond Drilled Brake Discs.
Drilled brake discs are designed to improve cooling under braking. The hotter the brakes the more likely they are to suffer from an effect called "brake fade". Fade reduces the stopping power of the brakes and is common under heavy or frequent braking or when braking from high speeds. Drilled discs help the brakes to cool under braking reducing the effect of fade and improving braking performance and stopping distance.
Black Diamond Grooved Brake Discs.
Grooved brake discs, or slotted brake discs as they are sometimes known, have grooves cut out from the face of the disc from the centre towards the outside edge. The number and design of these grooves varies depending on the brand of brake disc. These slots help vent particles and gas build up from under the pad and ensure better pad to disc contact under heavy braking, a process known as deglazing. By keeping the pads and disc face free of the dust and gas which is created under braking, fade is reducing and the vehicle stopping distances can be improved. The potential downside of heavily grooved discs in that they can reduce the life span of the brake pads.
Black Diamond Combi Brake Discs
As the name suggests, the black diamond combi discs are a combination of drilled and grooved. They are both drilled for extra cooling, and have grooves cut into them to deglaze the pads. The Combi discs are in my experience the most popular discs in the range and give impressing braking performance over the OEM brake setup, especially when fitted with the superb Black Diamond Predator brake pads.
Black Diamond's success isn't just luck. It is the extensive research and design, and the quality of their performance brakes that has ensured that they have won every brake comparison competition they have entered in both Max power and Fast Car magazines.
The first fast car test in 1995 in which black diamond was awarded the win against all the other major brands, it became clear that all the design and testing work prior to the launch was so very worth while. The 24 groove disc, the groove shape and profile and the post machining heat treatment all playing their part in making this product a world beater.
In 1996 Black Diamond were invited to take part in the first Max Power magazine awards test against all the other major world brands in the performance braking market, Black Diamond came out on top by such a huge margin that Max Power decided not to issue a second place prize! Our competitors were forced to wake up and in the next years awards we came equal first with another brand and in the next awards 1998 / 1999 after a Black Diamond pad compound tweak (Black Diamond Predator), Black Diamond won out right again and is still the current Max Power award holder. That is why www.dcperformance.co.uk are proud to be official Black Diamond Brake Disc and Pads dealers.
