Air filters are the first step to tuning any engine. The principle is simple, the more air you get in the engine, the more power you get out. Ok, so there is obviously more to it than that, but bolting on an induction kit can increase your cars power from 1-2bhp, up to 15bhp (rolling road proven!!) With modern ECU's you don't have to re-map or tune the engine, just bolt the kit on! Even a replacement element alone can add a couple of horses, and you never have to replace it, so they quickly pay for themselves. For the maximum power, you can go for a K&N typhoon kit, or an enclosed intake system like the BMC CDA kits maximising cold air intake.

Performance exhausts are a great way to improve the power, and sound of your car! Even with just a sports exhaust back box, your car can sound like it means business and have a noticeable improvement in power. For the maximum power increase though, a full exhaust system is the way forward. Sports cat, or de-cat pipe (not road legal) and tubular manifold give further power gains. Free flowing exhausts get the gases out of the engine quicker, and help improve power and acceleration, especially at higher revs.
Upgrading your brakes is vital if you have increased your cars power! It is all very well accelerating like an Aston Martin, but if you stop like a shopping trolley, you are going to be in trouble. If you are increasing your vehicles power, then you will inevitably put more stress on the clutch and transmission, which is when you require an uprated clutch. From organic to paddle clutches, we have them all. Couple this with a quick shifts for sharp and precise gear changes and you will really be able to feel the different in your 0-60 sprints!
The ECU then increases the fuel flow rate to maintain the air/fuel ratio which then produces greater combustion in the cylinders thus giving more power.
Cold air tubing is supplied with each kit and should be positioned down at the front of the engine bay so that as much cool air is channeled into the sealed chamber.
The top of the filter has a twist to it helping spin the air into a vortex for improved flow through the filter. The alloy shield protects the air inside from the heat of the engine so that as much cool air is delivered to the engine as possible.
Increases of 4-8bhp can be expected depending on vehicle and application. All kits are supplied with the necessary tubing and fitting materials.
