Air filters are the first step to tuning any engine. The principle is simple, the more air you get in the engine, the more power you get out. Ok, so there is obviously more to it than that, but bolting on an induction kit can increase your cars power from 1-2bhp, up to 15bhp (rolling road proven!!) With modern ECU's you don't have to re-map or tune the engine, just bolt the kit on! Even a replacement element alone can add a couple of horses, and you never have to replace it, so they quickly pay for themselves. For the maximum power, you can go for a K&N typhoon kit, or an enclosed intake system like the BMC CDA kits maximising cold air intake.

Free flowing exhausts get the gases out of the engine quicker, and help improve power and acceleration, especially at higher revs.

Most come with an aluminium intake pipe available in a choice of colours, and many with a heat shield which ensures that the maximum amount of COLD air is drawn into the throttle body. K&N induction kits come with K&Ns 10 year/million mile limited warranty. K&N intake systems replace your vehicles restrictive factory air filter and air intake housing. K&N intakes are designed to dramatically reduce intake restriction as they smooth and straighten air flow. This allows your vehicles engine to inhale a larger volume of air than the OEM air filter assembly. More air means more usable power and acceleration throughout the engines RPM range. Ran the typhoon for about 8 months and it lost me about 10/15hp, sounde good and looked good.

Easy to fit and will put a smile onto your face each time you press the throttle. Gets rid of the lazyness in the 1000 - 2000 rpm area, you can drive in larger gears without stalling the car. Party piece is the 3000+ rpm range :)

Great piece of kit. Dead easy to fit, gives more torque, more power and an incredible noise. All in all leaves you smiling from ear to ear every time you press the throttle. Noise with a stock exhaust varies from a nice purr at low revs with a bit of throttle, to a deep growl between 3k and 5k revs with half throttle, and screams it's n*ts off over 5500 revs with full throttle
