Air filters are the first step to tuning any engine. The principle is simple, the more air you get in the engine, the more power you get out. Ok, so there is obviously more to it than that, but bolting on an induction kit can increase your cars power from 1-2bhp, up to 15bhp (rolling road proven!!) With modern ECU's you don't have to re-map or tune the engine, just bolt the kit on! Even a replacement element alone can add a couple of horses, and you never have to replace it, so they quickly pay for themselves. For the maximum power, you can go for a K&N typhoon kit, or an enclosed intake system like the BMC CDA kits maximising cold air intake.

Performance exhausts are a great way to improve the power, and sound of your car! Even with just a sports exhaust back box, your car can sound like it means business and have a noticeable improvement in power. For the maximum power increase though, a full exhaust system is the way forward. Sports cat, or de-cat pipe (not road legal) and tubular manifold give further power gains. Free flowing exhausts get the gases out of the engine quicker, and help improve power and acceleration, especially at higher revs.

Ford Fiesta Mk7 ST180
This uprated intercooler kit for the Mk7 Fiesta ST 180 is a direct replacement for the Original intercooler with no cutting of any body or trim. The installation utilises the original boost pipework and air ducting, but by using all the available space and replacing the original 50mm thick core with a 70mm replacement performance gains are made.
The main reason for uprating an intercooler is to reduce the charged intake temperature as this is directly related to engine power. This is because the amount of power is relative to the density of the air, and density depends on the temperature, pressure and volume. Decrease the intake temperature = increase in air density
Also, power is lost through high intake temperatures. Many engine management systems will reduce power due to temperature increases, in order to protect engine components.
Even on a standard car, for which the OEM intercooler has been designed Forge picked up +5 hp, but on ECU recalibrated vehicles the better intercooler gave +13hp and 27 ft/lbs of torque.
Fitment is straight forward and comprehensive instructions are supplied with each interccoler.
