Air filters are the first step to tuning any engine. The principle is simple, the more air you get in the engine, the more power you get out. Ok, so there is obviously more to it than that, but bolting on an induction kit can increase your cars power from 1-2bhp, up to 15bhp (rolling road proven!!) With modern ECU's you don't have to re-map or tune the engine, just bolt the kit on! Even a replacement element alone can add a couple of horses, and you never have to replace it, so they quickly pay for themselves. For the maximum power, you can go for a K&N typhoon kit, or an enclosed intake system like the BMC CDA kits maximising cold air intake.

Performance exhausts are a great way to improve the power, and sound of your car! Even with just a sports exhaust back box, your car can sound like it means business and have a noticeable improvement in power. For the maximum power increase though, a full exhaust system is the way forward. Sports cat, or de-cat pipe (not road legal) and tubular manifold give further power gains. Free flowing exhausts get the gases out of the engine quicker, and help improve power and acceleration, especially at higher revs.

Exige S Supercharged EXIGE S UPGRADED INTERCOOLER
In order to improve upon the original air to air intercooler on this vehicle Forge looked at both chargecooler ( water/ air) and improved intercooler ( air/ air) options. It soon became apparent that Forge had to agree with the engineers at Lotus Cars, with the intercooler being the better option, due to the significant increase in weight of the chargecooler system.
Forge's intercooler is a direct replacement for the Lotus Exige S supercharged. In line with the Lotus Sport intercooler that is available to upgrade the 218bhp Exige S to the same specification as the Cup 240 /260 models, Forge have increased the dimensions of the intercooler.
This intercooler is not suitable for vehicles fitted with the single strut supported engine cover.
This product is simple to install and includes all the mounting hardware required *, it offers an improvement in cooling, without a significant increase in weight, all at a reasonable price.

An average of the many test runs performed, comparing the inlet and outlet temperatures with the OEM intercooler is displayed on the graph below.
On Forge's test vehicle, running the Lotus OEM software, Forge were pleased to see average temperature reductions of up to 17 degrees centigrade. The reduction of the charge air temperature, caused a subsequent increase in the charge air density and resulted in increasing the power output of the engine, when compared to the original intercooler.
Each intercooler kit is supplied with four replacement silicone hose couplers. These are of four ply re-inforced construction.
