Air filters are the first step to tuning any engine. The principle is simple, the more air you get in the engine, the more power you get out. Ok, so there is obviously more to it than that, but bolting on an induction kit can increase your cars power from 1-2bhp, up to 15bhp (rolling road proven!!) With modern ECU's you don't have to re-map or tune the engine, just bolt the kit on! Even a replacement element alone can add a couple of horses, and you never have to replace it, so they quickly pay for themselves. For the maximum power, you can go for a K&N typhoon kit, or an enclosed intake system like the BMC CDA kits maximising cold air intake.

Performance exhausts are a great way to improve the power, and sound of your car! Even with just a sports exhaust back box, your car can sound like it means business and have a noticeable improvement in power. For the maximum power increase though, a full exhaust system is the way forward. Sports cat, or de-cat pipe (not road legal) and tubular manifold give further power gains. Free flowing exhausts get the gases out of the engine quicker, and help improve power and acceleration, especially at higher revs.
Upgrading your brakes is vital if you have increased your cars power! It is all very well accelerating like an Aston Martin, but if you stop like a shopping trolley, you are going to be in trouble. Dear DC Performance Many thanks for your excellent & professional service. I placed my order over the phone for Black Diamond front and rear 12 groove discs and Predator pads for my Toyota Celica T Sport. I first spoke to Lauren who was very helpful who passed on my details and technical questions to Dan who I spoke to later that evening. He was able to reassure me that the part numbers I had identified were correct and that the prices I had calculated were also correct. I placed my order with him on Monday 2nd July around 1800. At 18:34 I received a confirmation e-mail and a login password so I could track my order on line. My car was already booked into my garage for the Friday morning for the work to be carried out and although the items were not in stock he assured me that he could get them to me by the Thursday. He also suggested that if I wished he could despatch them direct to the garage which I thought was more sensible and agreed to. I phoned my garage at 1600 on the Thursday to check whether the parts had arrived and was pleasantly surprised to find they arrived about 15 minutes earlier. I took the car in on the Friday and everything fitted perfectly. I had mentioned to Dan that one of the reasons for purchasing the Black Diamond discs was that the original Toyota discs were prone to rust even over night. So far (5 days later and even though we have had continous heavy rain)no sign of rustwhatsoever. Well done DC Performance and especially Dan & Lauren.
