Air filters are the first step to tuning any engine. The principle is simple, the more air you get in the engine, the more power you get out. Ok, so there is obviously more to it than that, but bolting on an induction kit can increase your cars power from 1-2bhp, up to 15bhp (rolling road proven!!) With modern ECU's you don't have to re-map or tune the engine, just bolt the kit on! Even a replacement element alone can add a couple of horses, and you never have to replace it, so they quickly pay for themselves. For the maximum power, you can go for a K&N typhoon kit, or an enclosed intake system like the BMC CDA kits maximising cold air intake.

Performance exhausts are a great way to improve the power, and sound of your car! Free flowing exhausts get the gases out of the engine quicker, and help improve power and acceleration, especially at higher revs.

The technology used in the Pipercross Viper was first seen on the famous Lotus 340R, but soon became available for an ever increasing range of popular road cars.
Pipercross Viper air intake direct cold air directly into the engine using 'velocity air force'. The cold air feed takes air from an area of cold, dense air straight into the Viper's inlet, swirling it through a unique Pipercross reverse-flow air filter contained within a carbon fibre heat shield, then into a ram pipe to increase the air pressure before feeding it into the induction system.The carbon fibre heat shield prevent the intake air being heated by the temperatures under the bonnet. The intake air is therefore more dense and thus introduces more oxygen into the combustion mixture, giving increased power.
The unique design of the filter cone and the inlet 'tune' the moving air flow to increase its speed and therefore its pressure maximising the laminar air flow into the engine, again resulting in increased power.
NOTE: Not all kits include the cold air feed due to limited space within the engine bay

Amazing intake, sounds incredible on the V6 4Motion when you open her up!! I did seem to be missing a small rubber mount (mentioned in the install) which I believe is meant to reduce vibration from the gearbox mount to the mass air flow meter.. especially as soon after installation mine died!! Ill be contacting Pipercross to have this part sent out. Aside from that I strongly recommend this kit.

I have fitted the kit and done about 100 miles since. The car sounds much saucier but I am astonished at the performance difference. The tick over is just below 1000 revs and used to be 750. The car is much quicker off the mark and you can feel that the revs are coming faster.
